Discovery Farms to host a webinar series on The WaterWay Network

A series of free educational webinars on The WaterWay Network will be offered to share the latest research from the Discovery Farms Programs of Wisconsin and Minnesota. All webinars will begin at 12:00pm Central Time. Certified Crop Consultants will be eligible to receive CEU credits per each webinar attended. Topics and dates below.

August 21 Edge-of-field water quality in two Wisconsin watersheds, presented by Amber Radatz, UW Discovery Farms Co-Director. Amber will present information from 7 years of monitoring in the Jersey Valley and Dry Run watersheds. This webinar will preview a final watershed project report that will be published fall of 2018. Earn 1 CEU in Soil & Water Management.

August 28 Benchmarking Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE), presented by Matt Ruark, UW-Madison Department of Soil Science and Abby Augarten, UW Discovery Farms NUE Coordinator. UW Discovery Farms has collected three years of NUE data to establish Wisconsin benchmarks. Learn about these benchmarks and bring your nitrogen management questions for Matt and Abby. September 4 Lessons learned from Spring Creek Farms, presented by Tim Radatz, Discovery Farms Minnesota Director. Located in Chisago County Minnesota, Spring Creek Farms hosted Discovery Farms research for six years. Hear the most valuable lessons learned from monitoring this no-till farm. Earn 1 CEU in Soil & Water Management.

September 11 Digging deeper into soil health, presented by Matt Ruark, UW-Madison Department of Soil Science and Greg Richardson a recent masters graduate from the UW-Madison Department of Soil Science. Discovery Farms has collected and analyzed soil health data from fields across Wisconsin and Minnesota. Matt and Greg will discuss the biological aspects of soil health and how we can interpret the data. Earn 1 CEU in Soil & Water Management.
